Ken-Kaneki has a very gentle nature
It is shown from the starting of the series Kaneki has a very good nature when he was not Ghoul and after becoming Ghoul his good nature exists. He always trying to protect Ghouls and normal humans from the chaos and trying to maintain peace.
Ken-Kaneki has performed martial arts by reading about it
Kaneki is a very big bookworm so why he is able to perform martial arts by reading about it in a book. Kaneki can apply something theoretical into practical terms after learning about it, in a short amount of time. He is the fastest and special ghoul ever throughout the seris.
Ken-Kaneki is a skilled swordsmen
Kaneki is very good at swordsmanship. After becoming Haise Sasaki Kaneki can use the quinque to slice through a ghoul's kagune. He can also use it effectively with his own kagune, which can give him a huge advantage in battle when fighting his enemies. Kaneki's quinque is called the Yukimura and this blade was previously used by Arima and Hirako before Kaneki took possession of it.
Ken-Kaneki and Yamori(Jason) went through similar torture methods
Yamori(Jason) tortured Kaneki in the same way that he was tortured at one time. Yamori(Jason) was taken to the 23rd ward's ghoul detention center, Cochlea, thanks to the information he had about the 13th ward and was left alive for the sake of getting information from him. During his imprisonment, he was tortured by a sadistic investigator and he learned the way to torture the ghouls. So, that's why he becomes the torturer for the fun of himself.
Ken-Kaneki's hair color changed often
Kaneki's hair changed its color often. Different people attribute its change of color to different things and a lot of it has to do with temporary melanin production due to its unstable RC cell activity. Kaneki's initial transformation from a black-haired person to a man with white hair symbolizes his mental progression. It only takes place when Kaneki embraces his ghoul side and allows it to cannibalize on his human side to break free Yamori's (Jason's) torture.
Ken-Kaneki is an avid reader
From the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul, Kaneki had shown as an avid reader of books and novels even as he gets different personas Kaneki's love for books always stays the same. Kaneki has vividly remembered that his father has read a lot of books. So that's why he start reading books and as it turns out the feeling was awfully soothing to him. It is presumed that the smell of his father's old books could have possibly made him feel like he was in his presence and before he knew he fell in love with reading.
